CAIRO: Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi said on Saturday that “famine” in Gaza can be dealt with in a short time if Israel opened the land crossings for aid to enter.
Safadi made the comments at a press conference with his Egyptian and French counterparts in Cairo.
The UN and partners have warned that famine could occur in devastated, largely isolated northern Gaza as early as this month

AMMAN: Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi received a phone call from the Irish Minister for Foreign Affairs Micheal Martin on Thursday, Jordan News Agency reported.
The two ministers discussed the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the prompt delivery of sufficient, sustainable aid to the enclave.
They also stressed the significance of implementing Security Council Resolution No. 2728, adopted on Tuesday, which called for a ceasefire during Ramadan.

AMMAN: Riot police fired teargas to push back hundreds of Jordanian demonstrators marching on the Israeli embassy in Amman on Sunday in protest at Israel’s latest storming of hospitals in Gaza and mounting civilian deaths.
The authorities had earlier deployed riot police to disperse demonstrators gathered in the Kaloti mosque in the capital who were planning to march on the heavily fortified Israeli embassy nearby.
Several protesters were beaten and several arrested as they tried to break a heavy police cordon around the embassy, witnesses said.

DUBAI: Jordan’s King Abdullah held talks with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, the president of the UAE, on Thursday in Abu Dhabi.

Their discussions included regional and international issues of mutual concern, including the war in Gaza, and ways to enhance the ties between their countries, the Emirates News Agency reported.

61 Warga Yordania Lainnya Diizinkan Tinggalkan Gaza Melalui Perbatasan Rafah

AMMAN: Egyptian authorities have authorized an additional 61 Jordanian citizens to leave Gaza through the Rafah border crossing, officials in Jordan said on Thursday.

Since October, 1,247 Jordanian citizens have registered with authorities that they are in Gaza, and 764 of them have been evacuated from the territory so far.

Yordania Lakukan Enam Penjatuhan Udara Bantuan di Gaza Utara

AMMAN: Jordan’s armed forces conducted six food aid airdrops across the northern Gaza Strip on Wednesday, Jordan News Agency reported.
The operation was carried out by the Royal Jordanian Air Force in conjunction with planes from Egypt, the US, Germany and Singapore.
The operation marks Singapore’s first involvement in the airdrops and highlights Jordan’s efforts to broaden international collaboration to provide critical aid to the Strip.

RIYADH: Jordan’s Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah on Monday performed Umrah, the minor pilgrimage to Makkah.

He also performed prayers at the Grand Mosque in Makkah, the Jordan News Agency reported.

Tentara Yordania Sebut Mereka Dapati Pergerakan Udara Mencurigakan Dekat Perbatasan Suriah

AMMAN: The Jordanian army said on Monday its air defense radar system had detected suspicious aerial movements from an unknown source along the border with Syria.
Jets believed to be Jordanian had been heard hovering over the Jordanian city of Irbid and areas near the border crossing with Syria, witnesses said
The army said an air force squadron had flown to ensure the airspace was not under any threat. It did not say from where the movements came.
