RIYADH: Saudi Arabian Military Industries signed a memorandum of understanding with South Korean automobile manufacturer Kia Corp. at the World Defense Show 2024 in Riyadh, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Wednesday.
The agreement aims to strengthen SAMI Land Systemsâ competencies, focused on building light tactical vehicles, through collaboration, research and development.
Kia, one of South Koreaâs oldest vehicle manufacturers, has a proven track record of developing chassis for light tactical military vehicles and other land systems.
RIYADH: Saudi Arabiaâs minister of the National Guard, Prince Abdullah bin Bandar, on Tuesday received a visit from the South Korean minister of national defense, Shin Wonsik.
During their meeting, in Riyadh, they discussed ways in which defense cooperation between their countries might be enhanced, as well as opportunities for developing partnerships in military industries, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
