RIYADH: Saudi Arabia showcased the Hawk T-165 jet at the World Defense Show, highlighting its assembly and manufacturing capabilities with contributions from 25 local companies producing 3,114 parts.Â
The unveiling of the trainer aircraft occurred during the ongoing defense exhibition in Riyadh under the patronage of Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency.

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia achieved a surplus of SR16 billion ($4.27 billion) in 2023, contrary to the Ministry of Financeâs estimate of a deficit of SR82 billion released in December.Â
While the Kingdomâs revenues came in at SR1.13 trillion, 5 percent below previous estimates, expenditure was 13 percent below the estimated figures and helped deliver the surplus, according to preliminary data in the latest monthly bulletin by the Ministry of Investment.

RIYADH: Saudi Arabiaâs electric vehicle infrastructure is poised for improvement following a new agreement signed by the Saudi Automotive and Equipment Services Co.Â
In collaboration with the Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Co., the memorandum of understanding seeks to foster cooperation and the exchange of expertise in the development and enhancement of the Kingdomâs EV infrastructure, according to a press release.

RIYADH: The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development on Monday cautiously raised its forecast for world economic growth in 2024 amid threats of consumer price inflation due to the ongoing Middle East tensions.
Sharply lifting the outlook for the US, it now forecasts a 2.9 percent global growth, up from 2.7 percent in its previous estimate in November.

JERUSALEM: French Foreign Minister Stephane Sejourne said Monday that Israeli âsettler violence must stopâ against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, following a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
âUnder no circumstances can there be forced displacement of Palestinians, neither out of Gaza nor out of the West Bank,â Sejourne said during a Middle East tour aimed at securing a truce between Israel and militant group Hamas in Gaza.
