ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s premier arts council has set up a Ramadan exhibition showcasing Qur’anic calligraphy by leading artists as part of efforts to boost interest in the traditional art form.

The Pakistan National Council of the Arts was established in 1973 to promote and preserve the nation’s cultural heritage. It organizes cultural events, exhibitions, workshops and performances to highlight Pakistani art and culture, both nationally and internationally.

Masjid Karachi Hidupkan Tradisi Berusia Puluhan Tahun dengan Acara Buka Puasa yang Megah

KARACHI, Pakistan: The tradition began 76 years ago.

Since then, every year during the holy month of Ramadan, hundreds gather at sunset for a grand communal iftar dinner at the New Memon Mosque in Karachi. The meal is arranged by a group of volunteers for almost 3,000 people daily.

Riaz Ali Qadri, who is part of the management team that arranges the iftar, told Arab News the feast was attended by local shopkeepers, customers, laborers and other passers-by.
