CAIRO: Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi said on Saturday that âfamineâ in Gaza can be dealt with in a short time if Israel opened the land crossings for aid to enter.
Safadi made the comments at a press conference with his Egyptian and French counterparts in Cairo.

JERUSALEM: Israeli troops shot dead two Palestinians and wounded a third on Gazaâs beach, the military acknowledged on Saturday, responding to a video that showed one man falling to the ground after walking in an open area and then a bulldozer pushing two bodies into the garbage-strewn sand.
The military said troops opened fire after the men allegedly ignored warning shots.
The video was broadcast earlier this week by the Al Jazeera television network. The origin of the footage remains unknown, as is the date of the incident.

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian authorities were on high alert on Saturday after the arrest of an Israeli national who was apprehended with several handguns and rounds of ammunition at a hotel in Kuala Lumpur.

THE HAGUE: Judges at the International Court of Justice on Thursday unanimously ordered Israel to take all the necessary and effective action to ensure basic food supplies arrive without delay to the Palestinian population in Gaza.
The ICJ said the Palestinians in Gaza face worsening conditions of life, and famine and starvation are spreading.
âThe court observes that Palestinians in Gaza are no longer facing only a risk of famine (…) but that famine is setting in,â the judges said in their order.
