Mikati Kutuk “Penargetan Berbahaya” terhadap Pengamat PBB di Lebanon

BEIRUT: Lebanon’s caretaker prime minister on Saturday condemned a “dangerous incident” in which UN staff were wounded by shelling.

The three UN observers and a translator had been carrying out a patrol in southern Lebanon, where Hezbollah and Israel have traded blows since Oct. 8 last year.

UNIFIL, the UN’s peacekeeping mission in Lebanon, is investigating the source of the attack, spokesperson Andrea Tenenti said.

Lebanon’s Foreign Ministry filed an urgent complaint before the UN Security Council over the attack, accusing Israel of targeting the patrol.

PBB Sebut Empat Staf Terluka dalam Ledakan di Lebanon Selatan

BEIRUT: United Nations peacekeepers said three military observers and a translator were wounded Saturday in a blast in southern Lebanon, where Israel and the Hezbollah movement trade frequent cross-border fire.
Peacekeepers from the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) patrol the so-called Blue Line, the border demarcated by the UN in 2000 when Israeli troops pulled out of southern Lebanon.
The UN Truce Supervision Organization (UNTSO) supports the peacekeeping mission.
