Paramiliter RSF Sudan Sambut Baik Seruan PBB untuk Hentikan Pertempuran di Bulan Ramadhan

CAIRO: Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces paramilitary group on Saturday welcomed a call by the United Nations Security Council for a cessation of hostilities in the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, offering a potential respite from the 11-month-old conflict.
Ramadan is expected to start on Sunday evening.
In a statement, the RSF expressed hope that the Security Council resolution would “significantly lessen the suffering of the Sudanese people by ensuring the smooth delivery of humanitarian aid” and pave the way for a political process leading to a permanent ceasefire.

Akankah Para Jenderal Sudan yang Bertikai Indahkan Permohonan Gencatan Senjata di Bulan Ramadhan Saat Kelaparan Massal Mulai Terjadi?

ABIDJAN, Cote d’Ivoire: As the Islamic world prepares to observe the holy month of Ramadan, with its requisite fasting during daylight hours, the people of Sudan are going hungry — but not as a matter of choice. Eleven months of violence has brought the East African nation to the brink of famine.

Amid the country’s grinding conflict, now almost a year old, once abundant sesame and gum arabic harvests have faltered. Meanwhile, the specter of famine looms over communities cut off by the fighting where humanitarian aid assistance cannot reach.

Tentara Sudan Kesampingkan Gencatan Senjata Kecuali RSF Tinggalkan Lokasi Sipil

DUBAI: There will be no truce in Sudan in the holy month of Ramadan unless the Rapid Support Forces, also known as RSF, paramilitary group leaves the homes and sites of civilians, senior Sudanese armed forces Gen. Yasser Al-Atta said on Sunday.

The statement follows an appeal by the UN Security Council for a truce. The paramilitary RSF said it welcomed the ceasefire call.

Atta’s statement, issued on the army’s official Telegram channel, cited recent military advances by the army in Omdurman, part of Sudan’s wider capital.
